· Easy identification of dorsal
extension
· Optimal fusion result
· Easy loading simulation
INDICATIONS
-
Intra-operative determination of dorsal extension for MPJ i fusion under loading simulation
-
The Foot Kelle is also helpful for other surgeries, when the fore foot and hind foot must be adjusted or neutralized
PROBLEM POSITION
In MPG I arthrodesis, the angle of dorsal adjustment (dorsal extension) can only be determined on the loaded foot, as it depends on the respective declination angle of the 1st ray. Any other angle measurement or angle determination may result in incorrectly adjusted arthrodesis.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

USING
In the sterile surgical field, the foot kelle is pressed on the footsole to simulate loading of the foot

A useful measure is the surgeon’s small fingertip, which should fit between the MPJ i joint and the Foot Kelle
With this type of «load» it is easy and safe to determine the angle of the dorsal extension for fusion, prior to osteosynthesis fixation
Even after fixation, which can quickly lead to unnoticed alignment changes, it is recommended to check again the foot alignment with the foot kelle and document the result in the surgical report
